REVIEWS / READERS AND PUBLISHERS COMMENTS
This is a story about a monster who is as captivated by his home as the author is about hers.

Set in Cornwall, and in the area surrounding St Michael’s Mount, The Mount’s Bay Monster is an intelligent and knowledgeable account of the natural surroundings.

Davison’s skill is in creating a story that is so accessible for children and linking the tale with the reality of her natural surroundings. The book is effective and unpretentious because it retains a simple narrative throughout, drawing the reader in as it goes along.

Davison calls us to make up our own minds as to whether the tale is fact or fantasy. This answer is unimportant; the joy is in the story and this is good storytelling as it should be done.
